Hope everyone had a nice weekend! We were busy doing yard work, spring cleaning and catching up on sleep!
Gwendolyn boycotted all naps on Saturday, sleeping for only 30 minutes a stretch. We used this weekend to start putting her to sleep in her bedroom. Until now, she has gone down each night in the co-sleeper in our room. We planned to have her sleep in her crib until she wakes for her first feeding, to get her used to her room... At least that was our plan.
She slept in the crib for 2 hours Friday night, a half hour on Saturday night and not at all on Sunday! Talk about baby steps! I'll admit we have no will power in having her "cry it out". That will come in time. I don't honestly think she is ready to soothe herself just yet and hope eventually she will be capable of sleeping longer stretches in her room.
Despite lack of sleep, Chris and I decided to do a day trip to the Cape on Sunday. We enjoyed relaxing on the beach listening the ocean, strolled in the sand for a while and then walked the Cape Cod Canal. We visited downtown Falmouth and had a nice lunch.
Gwendolyn is so fair skinned I am paranoid about exposing her to the sun, so she's all covered up in these pictures! The weather was still fairly cool and if you could not tell, windy! She flinches like a terrified vampire whenever she is out in the sun but I'm sure it won't be long before our babe is in her swim suit, splashing in the water!
